After THE STAGS, Wigan has a new musical gem to offer now: THE SHOOK-UPS! play finest amped-up Garagerock with a psychedelic influence in the manner of bands like THE MUSIC MACHINE or THE SEEDS. Anyone who’s seen them play live before will know how amazing and at the same time funny their shows are; a perfect sound paired with some entertaining, eccentric and infectious dancefloor action! The band is made up of ex-members of MOCO, THE STAGS, DOKTOR COMBOVER and The V.C.s and released their debut 7’’ on ROTOSONIC RECORDS in a very limited edition. Their first LP BAD RECEPTION is now released on SOUNDFLAT RECORDS.

This album will captivate you immediately with its dirty fuzz grooves, pounding beats, a lot of farfisa organ and a psychedelic touch. Songs such as “Second to None” and “New Confession” sound as if they were missing songs on the Pebbles- or Back From The Grave-Compilations; these guys from North West England definitely know how to write and make great music, that makes you dance and jump. Aside from their own compositions they included a superb cover-version of the Garagepunk-classic “No reason to complain” by THE ALARM CLOCKS.
