Description
Join us at the Night Owl in Finsbury Park for the long-awaited DWR return of The Phobics with the DWR debut of Botox!
The Phobics were formed in Deptford Garden City, sarf London, by a bunch of punk misfits with a love of raw rock n roll. The band DNA? Well, Punk destroying the moral fabric of society and running riot the UK in 1976/77, NYC’s rock n roll underground of the ’70s, Detroits’ finest revolutionaries and dozens of ’60s and ’70s proto punk garage psychos and losers. As if we need to spell them out, you know the score…When sex, drugs and rock n roll meant something other than corporate rehab…
The sound? Think Ramones and the Heartbreakers kicking the crap out of each other while the Roxy burns and the Damned piss on the fire. Now in their 25th year, The Phobics have gigged with all the usual Punk and Garage suspects and their mothers from across the globe – The Fleshtones, Primevals, Deaf Devils, Rum Kick, DeRellas, The Zones, Witchdoktors, Das Klown, Sex Gang Children, Fire Exit, TV Smith, Ming City Rockers, Outcasts, Glen Matlock, Only Ones, Rezillos, Chelsea, Healthy Junkies, Vibrators, Johnny Moped, Ruts DC, Drunk Mums, The Parkinsons, 999, Lurkers, Heavy Metal Kids, Johnny Throttle, Department S, Vice Squad, Heavy Drapes, Spizz, The Briefs, The Star Spangles, Peter and the Test Tube Babies, the Bermondsey Joyriders, Menace, The Stalkers , Clorex Girls, Viva Las Vegas, The Meteors and Ed Tudor Pole, yada yada yada! Soon to release their new album ‘Gimme Cyanide’ on Time to be Proud Records, with artwork by Gaye (Advert) Black a dirty dozen new tunes to resonate inside your head and loosen your fillings!
Botox made their debut one month ago at New River Studios. They are a new punk band based in norf London. Featuring members of Desperate Fün, Lame, and Suicide Generation (Oh yeah!). Just a few chords… and there we go!! Outrageous tunes loaded with boredom and anger!! 1-2-3-4…!!!.
DJ – until 04:00 – is Simon Drowner from Desperate Journalist and Some Weird Sin!
Poster (coming soon) by the Leg End Marco Palumbo (No Front Teeth Records and all your favourite London punk bands).
